Outfit of the Day September 30, 2009

This long sleeve chocolate brown ruffle top by DEPT is so cute with jeans or trousers for a more casual occasion. We paired it with this great basic cream cardi by Press for a layered look and then added Virginia Taylor's tweed pencil skirt. A coordinating tweed jacket is available for a suit combination. Though difficult to see in the picture, this plaid skirt is full of colors including, light brown, chocolate brown, light green, pink and turquoise. It’s a great fall weight and the colors make it very wearable into early spring. Of course, this is a classic look but we added the multilayered turquoise necklace to give this ensemble a little more flare.

To show you yet another great way to wear this classic piece we again brought out our pinstripe Quinn button down that is so tailored and a great staple for your closet.  Today, we layered it under this ivy green sweater vest by Press for a preppy look. Paired with David Kahn's very flattering and comfortable mid-rise trouser jean gives the ensemble a more casual feel, which would be great for Casual Friday!. Add a statement necklace or layers of pearls like we did to complete this polished outfit.

This flirty and very feminine ensemble will have you ready for your next office party or girl’s night. Again, we pulled out our classic black pencil skirt by Peace of Cloth and dressed it up by adding Hale Bob’s printed with silver accents ruffle cami.  For those cooler nights you can top it off with this fabulous silver Joy Joy cardi that almost sparkles when it catches the light. With all the detail in the cami and the cardi it is best to keep your accessories simple. We just added a pretty heart shape drop necklace with crystals for a brilliant finish.

Purple! THE color of fall. A simple yet classy dress by DEPT in deep purple is a great timeless piece that can easily be dressed up or down. The little cap sleeve and u-shape neckline add sweet touches of femininity. The trendy purple patent skinny belt paired with pleats creates a beautiful waistline. Switch the belt out with a different color or width for a new look. We love all this color for fall. Joy Joy's colorfully plaid double breasted jacket is loaded with details. The princess seaming with velvet piping trim gives this piece a tailored fit and flattering silhouette. The inverted pleat in the back of the jacket just adds yet another fabulous detail to an already amazing look. We played with more color by adding this magenta blouse by Fumblin' Foe. It's so feminine with its flower petal shaped collar and hemline. You can wear this combination back to your pencil skirt, jeans or your favorite trousers. We show it with the most flattering trousers out there, Liquid's Hallway trouser. Yes, these trousers are a sure thing on most body types. Nicole Miller’s take on the classic shirtdress with its geometric print and silk make-up offer style and versatility. The vertical black line running front-and-center down the dress is very elongating. The cut and stretch twill print fabric are flattering on most body types. It looks great belted or unbelted.  Conservative enough for the office and chic enough for dinner out on the town, it's a great day-to-night piece. Yes, we mixed a polka dot pattern with an animal print and its oooh so chic. This chocolate brown tone-on-tone polka dot pattern JADE skirt suite is classic with a basic solid blouse. However, we took things up a notch by adding this beautiful JADE animal print cami and chunky gold necklace. With or without this rich brown soft belt from HYDE, the ensemble is a real attention getter.
