Outfit of the Day December 31, 2009

Wearing Phoebe Couture is one fabulous way to ring in the New Year!! This strapless, luxe, jewel-toned dress is sexy and sweet with its sweetheart neckline, empire waist and above the knee hem. The very special rose textured skirt adds stylish dimension, while providing camouflage for our lumps and bumps. This dress is gorgeous on its own. If you need something for your shoulders reach for your on-trend boyfriend blazer, like this one by J Copper. Because it's New Years Eve, we added metallic sheen and another sweet detail with Hyde's skinny bow belt. Your new breezy spring dresses can easily be made office appropriate simply by adding structure. Here we added Liquid's crisp white jacket and Hyde's bright orange wide belt to make this ensemble conference room ready. Add simple accessories, including a nude or black pump and you are ready for that morning meeting. After work, shed the jacket to expose the ruffle trimmed sleeves on this otherwise flirty dress by Joy Joy. We love to accesorize with a fabulous strand of beads layered up for the chunky statement piece look, adding a finishing touch to a fabulous fall to spring transition. Here we have POC's classic charcoal pencil skirt (offered in a full range of colors) and Lilla P's red surplice tee with side ruching (also offered in a full range of colors). These two closet "must haves" are styles that look great on almost everyone and offer lots of versatility. We added Hyde's black soft belt to cinch the waist and soften the edge of our necklace. Liquid's Isabella Dress with its black, navy and white print and gathered waistline is a flattering fit on most body types. It looks great with a black leather jacket and black boots but here we brightened things up a bit with white and orange accouterments. Liquid's Katie jacket in crisp white and gold button detail and Hydes' bright orange belt give an already fabulous dress a fresh look. This is not the first time you have seen these pieces. We showed you Drew's plaid flannel button-front on November 6 paired back to a sexy ruffle neckline Hale Bob cami. On December 2 we also showed you this chunky grandpa cardi over a silky digital print top by Fifteen Twenty. Today we pulled together these two warm pieces for a comfy cozy look that also has great style. Paired back to David Kahn jeans gives this ensemble another causal element for a great everyday outfit. Little Black Dress Week Nicole Miller's LBD with its printed skirt is so urban and versatile. The ruching on the bodice is figure flattering and the pleated skirt gives you just enough volume to hide those imperfections. This dress has a little edge to it so adding an ecru cropped leather jacked by BB Dakota was a perfect layer. Black leather boots would be a nice way to round out this look. For a softer ensemble trade the leather jacket and boots for a cardigan, a skinny black patent belt and ballet flats. Outfit of the Day December 17, 2009

Little Black Dress Week! Black Halo's Kathleen Dress is oh so chic with its pleated neckline, foe wrap skirt and slinky fabric. It's sexy without being overt. This dress is fabulous with simple accessories. We, however, piled on the accessories for a different look. Hyde's gold mesh trim wide belt is so dressy and really draws attention to your waistline. With leather in the front and stretch material in the back, it's stylish and comfortable. We then added layers and layers of thick gold necklaces for drama. Little Black Dress Week Liquid's simple pleated-front LBD with self belt of course wears perfectly on its own. We added another layer and a wonderful pop of color with Press' classic cardi in pink. This easily took the look from dinner dress to work appropriate. For a little extra flair we cinched the waist with Hyde's skinny black leather belt with gold mesh bow detail. This belt is pretty and feminine and a great way to add a special touch to your waist. We love how your little black dress can be transformed simply by adding classic pieces or trendy accessories. Little Black Dress Week
Black Halo's Ann Margaret dress is a great structured little black number that can also be quite versatile. Here we show it in a more corporate ensemble. We put Emquinn's pen striped button-front underneath to make this LBD work appropriate. The double collar and double french cuffs are extra special details that create a memorable look. However, this dress on its own looks amazing, showing just the right amount of skin to create a perfect dinner dress. With the right shoes and accessories you could wear this piece for dressier occasions. For more information on this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

Little Black Dress Week.
Envi makes a great knit dress and this little black cowl neck style is no exception. The classic cut is easy to wear on its own with its soft self-belt (not shown). Also, it is easy to accessories depending on the occasion. We added a chunky mixed metals and beads statement necklace to fill in the blunging neckline. You could stop here and add your fabulous pumps or wedges. Or add a waist belt, like this black and brown one by Elsie M, and your favorite boots for another great look. This one is a closet "go to" piece with endless versatility. For more information about this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

Statement necklaces and studded accessories are still trending strong and are great ways to update and add flair to your ensemble. Here we are showing how Envi's beautifully simple knit dress in purple easily transforms to a stronger look by adding Hyde's fabulous 80's inspired studded belt. The gathers along the waistline give this dress a great silhouette with or without a belt, however. The wide round neckline creates the perfect palette for a great chunky necklace. Add black opaque tights and black booties to round out this special assemblage. For more information about this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

All those ruffles are so much fun and can be more versatile than you might think. Virgina Taylor's fabulous white ruffle front top with puffy sleeves and tailored lines works well back to a pencil skirt and jacket or your favorite jeans and heels. Today, we paired it with this sparkly New Years Eve mini skirt by Notice for a fun "look-at-me" ensemble. This skirt also looks great paired with your basic or not-so-basic black turtleneck. In keeping with this dressier look, we cinched the waist with Hyde's black leather belt donning beautifully intricate gold detail. We added two chunky gold necklaces to complete this look. Easy going and cute was the mood we were going for here. We pulled together four different yet very versatile pieces to create a uniquely playful ensemble that works for many fun occasions. We showed you Joy Joy's sheer cardi on December 3 in a different color way. Today we have layered it over Nally & Millie's ultra cute textured bow detail tee for dimension and interest. This tee also looks great on its on or layered under your favorite jacket. As we most often do, we cinched the waist with Hyde's black stretch canvas belt. All this coordinated perfectly back to Notice's shimmering color blocked skirt. We kept the jewelry simple by adding a delicate silver triple wrap necklace. Add your black opaque tights and ballet flats for a finished look. For more information about this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

Outfit of the Day December 7, 2009

Black and white are always fabulous together. Adding a pop of color like yellow, green or red just takes your ensemble to a new level. Liquid's red hot party dress with its ruffle sleeves and black patent skinny belt is feminine, flirty and gives a great hourglass shape. It's perfect for upcoming holiday parties or date night. For a layer of warmth and added sophistication we topped it with Liquid's architectural jacket that can be belted with its self belt (shown here tied in back) or left open for a peek-a-boo look at your under layer. This layer can also take a party dress to office appropriate if left on. For more information on this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

Drama! Virginia Taylor, designer for both the skirt and top,  knows how to wrap you up in fabulous statement pieces this season. Her skirt is pretty, pink and perfectly pleated and the gold overlay gives it shimmer and dimension for an extra special look. We then added her crisp white top with exaggerated bow to take this ensemble to eye catching status and create a beautifully unique outfit. To bring this top in to daytime just add it to your pencil skirts, trousers or jeans. On November 17 we showed you how to wear this great white top with a blazer and gray pleated skirt. Check it out. Joy Joy always makes "easy throw on" pieces that look great back to lots of things in our closets. This printed sheer cardi is yet another great "got to" piece. Its shimmering silver trim and waistband give it sparkle and shape. It is fabulous back to jeans and a tee or on colder days a turtleneck. We paired it with Envi's electric blue stretchy knit dress that has great ruching on the sleeves, flattering gathering at the waist and small side pockets for style and convenience. We accentuated the waist with Hyde's wide weave black belt and accessorized the neckline with two bronze beaded necklaces that pick up additional colors in the cardi. Digital print has made an impression this season and Fifteen Twenty's 100% silk version is a perfect way to wear it. The colors work with just about anything in your closet and the empire waist makes it a flattering style for most. We topped it with Press' chunky cable knit grandpa cardi for texture and warmth. Pairing them back to David Kahn's exaggerated stitching denim brings this ensemble to a finished look. However, we did not stop there. We love how this chunky blue necklace adds additional color and dimension to the mix. For more information about this and other "Outfit of the Day" postings contact us via FrenchCuffCo.com.

Pink and black, one of our favorite color combinations. Fumblin' Foe's ultra textured dinner dress with its extra wide stretch belt is a great statement piece on its own. It is sassy and sophisticated all rolled up into one. The color and all those ruffles hide just about any of our lumps and bumps. For extra flair and a pop of color we added Virginia Taylor's scallop trim jacket we showed you on November 2. What a fabulous ensemble for just about any party this season.
